Noosa Alive! returns to the Sunshine Coast this winter, presented by Noosa Long Weekend. Taking place in Noosa Heads, Noosa Alive! is nine days of nonstop performance art and culture, showcasing the region’s most passionate artists and performers. With a huge program lined up and a diverse variety of live music, theatre, cabaret, dance performances and more, Noosa Alive! is one of the must-attend events this winter on the Sunshine Coast.
Noosa Alive! has grown to be one of the premier regional performing arts and culture festivals in Australia since its founding in 1996 by an innovative group of artists. With the picturesque setting of Noosa Heads as its backdrop, Noosa Alive! is an exciting and inspiring festival surrounded in scenic beaches and rainforest that all ages and tastes can enjoy. During its nine-day period, the venues and streets of Noosa Heads are taken over with a number of events that include live music performances, theatre and cabaret shows, dance acts, visual arts, film showings, and lots of good food signature of the Noosa region.
The 2018 program for Noosa Alive! offers an unmissable selection of live music performances including Orchestral Music comes alive!, Late Nights & After Dinner Mints, Livvy & Pete: The Songs of Olivia Newton-John and Peter Allen, IDA Girls, Straight from the Hart, and Katie Noonan & Michael Leunig. Theatre and cabaret shows will comprise of A Vaudeville Affair, Carlotta: Queen of the Cross, Disenchanted, Marjorie Prime, and the One Act Play Festival. See incredible dance performances with Queensland Ballet Alive! and The Street Party – Carnival of Colour. Noosa Alive! will also feature appearances from renowned authors Diana Thompson, Sara Dowse, and Dorothy Johnston. Visual art exhibits to catch this year include No Human Being Is Illegal, Connect 3, and Mood and Mind + Unearth, as well as an exclusive film showing of Paris Can Wait, in association with Slow Food Noosa. On top of all of that, Noosa Alive! will enjoy an explosive fireworks display this year with Fire in the Sky!
